October 2nd, 2018: Together instead of alone
The project started with a visit to the “One World Festival 2018” in the DKH (Dietrich-Keuning-Haus). The intercultural program enabled participants to come out of isolation and overcome fear.
November 2nd, 2018: Globe Café – A world in a box
In the “Globe Café – a world in a box” project, they were able to have a discussion and enjoy a more traditional African cuisine. Ralf Stoltze (District Mayor of Inner City West), Olaf Mayer (spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group in the District Representation of Inner City West) and Anne Eberle (spokesperson for the Left Party) were asked. “How does integration work?” Participants were able to ask questions and share their ideas with the local politicians on site.
01.12.2018: Meet & Greet – your commitment is required
The project “Meet & Greet – your commitment is required” enables refugees and newcomers to meet with committed volunteers from the African community. Participants were also able to find out the activities of the MSOs (migrant self-organizations) and their actors.
December 24th, 2018: COHEDO e.V. – Annual celebration
The annual celebration was held in a festive setting on Christmas Eve.
Participants were brought closer together through a Christian custom celebration meal. At the end of the evening, the best projects and particularly committed people of 2018 were awarded.
“Your vote for integration” – A “Photovoice” project with refugees and newcomers
The project “Your Voice for Integration” of COHEDO e.V. (Community at Heart Dortmund e.V.) is funded by “KOMM-AN NRW” for the integration of refugees and new immigrants in North Rhine-Westphalia, Dortmund. The organiser Kevin Ndeme Nguba Matuke and his team from COHEDO e.V. were able to connect to refugees and immigrants from various parts of Africa.
